Long-Distance Week

At the University of Washington, we use an informal recruitment process, meaning that there is no specific week or time period that you begin recruitment. Traditionally, this has put people that live further away from our campus in a tough position if they’d like to begin recruitment before the school year begins. To answer this need, we have crafted an optional semi-formal recruitment week for those who are further away. Registering for this week will give you the opportunity to see upwards of 20 of our IFC fraternities, as well as four breakfasts, three lunches, and lodging for the whole week.

In the first half of each day, you will have the opportunity to be led through five fraternities. The rest of the day is free time for you to go back and interact with chapters that you liked or to see some that you haven’t gotten the opportunity to yet. By the end of the week, the goal is to have you comfortable enough to sign a fraternity, but if you feel that you still do not have your mind made up, you are not required to have a decision made.
